CAPAX has more than 8 years of experience in designing and type approving IEC-945/60945 compliant marine computers and peripherals. A series of marine computers have been developed during this time - each tested for IEC-945/60945 and other specific standards like Lloyd ENV2 and Rina. Our marine certified computers have been used in hundreds of maritime applications ranging from ECDIS primary navigation systems to naval guidance and control systems. CAPAX has one platform available to all our customers but most of our marine computers are the result of specific customer projects. All our marine customers benefit from the experience we have gained from creating the mission critical platforms for these leading maritime companies.

Our standard marine computer platform offers a wide variety of features and interfaces. In order to communicate with other equipment such as radar, Arpas and DGPS, the system is equipped with multiple COM ports. Those can be configured as either RS232 or RS422/485. As an option you can have two VGA outputs which will give you the option to display for example navigation information and a radar image simultaneously on different screens. Audio output/input and digital I/O with relay controls are also available as options. To secure a long life cycle for the system Capax uses components available from Intel’s embedded division.
